Yoga Love Elkford
|
My name is Vanessa Lee Smith, I have lived in Elkford for almost 16 years. My husband works at the Coal mines here and I have been selling Real Estate in Elkford for 15 years. I moved here after I married and have since 2 children born and raised here. We are an active family and enjoy many summer and winter sports that our community offers. I have been a runner longer than I have can even remember, and have used yoga to help balance my body and mind from many daily activities. I have been blessed enough to spend the entire month of June 2015 in Montezuma Costa Rica. I have always been very physically active, and found over the years yoga has been a constant for helping me relieve stress, and finding personal strength & balance. Only after really intensely studying yoga have I found the importance and confidence to share gift with others.
Living in the jungle for an entire month, is an experience itself now mix in organic plant based diets, 3-6 yoga classes a day, lectures, anatomy, and must not forget meditation. Spending Hours of time studying Ayurveda Health and the entire Chakra system in depth and then living these experiences along side with 26 strangers. I now feel excited and ready to share this knowledge and love of yoga with everyone around me. Being even more fortunate, during my one month stay at Anamaya I was presented with the opportunity to also become certified in KAYS Kidding Around Yoga "children's yoga", opening up many more doors and really allowing me to share my love of yoga with my children. Passing along these skills at a young age to children is essential and will prove to support growth throughout their little lives! It has been many years since I have been teaching daily yoga classes in my Studio here in Elkford. I have enjoyed and learned so much from this amazing group of people and look forward to many more years. I taught between 8-12 classes a week did a few challenges and lead running/ yoga groups early spring to get everyone ready for summer! Its been amazing and look forward to what the next year has in store. I look forward to our yoga journey. NAMASTE, |
